When James arrived at our workshop with his Toyota GR 86, he already had a solid system and strong bass. He is a true bass enthusiast.
After walking through our recent projects and listening to a few DSP-tuned vehicles, we challenged his perspective.

Morel Sensus 62 Components – Front and Rear
For us, some of the true high-end speaker brands are Morel, Focal, and Brax.

Everything was configured fully active.

🔌 Signal and Wiring
On day two, we completed:
• Full copper power and speaker wiring upgrade
• High-end RCA interconnects
• Rear sound deadening treatment
• Installation of new head unit Kenwood DMX9021S
The RCA output quality from the Kenwood paired with the HELIX DSP platform creates a clean and stable signal chain.
Every detail matters. Materials, cable gauge, insulation, panel integrity. Sound is a system of components working together, not just equalisation.
🎚 Tuning Process
After hardware installation, we began tuning using:
• AMI Tuning Kit – Audio Measurement Interface Tuning Kit
• DSP PC-Tool 6
Tuning required extensive effort. Phase alignment, time correction, crossover precision, dynamic control.
When you are pushing approximately 1400 watts into sub frequencies while maintaining pristine clarity in mids and highs, tuning becomes critical.

James sent us a message after delivery:

This build was the third time we worked with the HELIX V Eight Ultimate MK2 amplifier, but in this Toyota 86 the combination felt different.
