When Michael brought us his brand-new Toyota GR Supra J29, 2025 model, he already knew what he wanted: a premium sound system that exceeded the limitations of the factory JBL setup. Having upgraded his 2019 Supra with us in the past, he returned for a second project — this time aiming for audiophile-grade performance with OEM integration.
The build took six full days of installation, soundproofing, wiring, and DSP tuning, with every element executed to keep the GR Supra’s interior completely factory-looking.

Michael’s request was clear:
- Replace all 10 factory speakers (tweeters, mids, and woofers).
- Add a compact boot subwoofer for extra depth.

🔧 Six Days of Installation – Step by Step
This GR Supra J29 became one of the most detailed builds we’ve completed this year. Each day was dedicated to a different stage of the transformation:
Day 1 – Disassembly & Acoustic Benchmarking
We carefully removed trims, seats, and panels, documenting every clip to ensure perfect reassembly. Using microphones and analysers, we measured the factory JBL system’s frequency response and imaging. This gave us a benchmark to compare against once the HELIX system was in place.
Day 2 – Soundproofing & Prep Work
We applied premium acoustic insulation in key areas: underseat woofer cavities, door panels, and rear side trims. This eliminated rattles, reduced road noise, and ensured the new speakers would deliver tight midbass without distortion.
Day 3 – Front Stage Installation
The GR Supra’s cabin sound relies heavily on its front stage. We installed HELIX Ci3 K165.2FM-S2 front components with FlexMount adapters, ensuring perfect alignment behind the original grills. The tweeters were carefully angled for precise imaging while maintaining the OEM look.
Day 4 – Rear Stage & Subwoofer Setup
The rear doors received HELIX Ci3 coaxial speakers for rear-fill, while under the seats we fitted HELIX Ci5 woofers, providing strong midbass. To complete the low-end, we integrated a stealth 8" boot-mounted subwoofer, giving the Supra true depth without compromising boot practicality.
Day 5 – DSP Amplifier Integration
We installed the MATCH UP 8DSP amplifier paired with an Eway Tech MOST25 to Toslink converter for digital integration with the JBL system. The amplifier was mounted discreetly, with Supra-specific harnesses ensuring reversibility. Power wiring was routed with OEM precision and full safety protections.
Day 6 – DSP Tuning & Finalisation
Using HELIX DSP PC-Tool, we calibrated the system with surgical precision:
- 30-band EQ across all channels
- Time alignment for driver-focused staging
- Phase correction for clean integration
- Subwoofer crossover optimisation
After several hours of testing across multiple genres, the Supra’s audio was transformed into a studio-grade system with balanced staging, depth, and power. On this final day, we also installed Michael’s dashcam with a hidden battery pack for a seamless, factory-like finish.
