When Dave contacted us about his Suzuki Jimny 3 Door 2025, he had one clear goal:

He had just picked up the Jimny the week before and felt the factory speakers simply could not deliver the detail he was used to. Interestingly, despite having experience working in live sound, he is not a bass enthusiast. He wanted mids and highs to shine, with precision and balance.
That made this project both exciting and technically challenging.
🎯 The Challenge
The Jimny is compact.
• Small door speaker locations
• Limited rear space
• Thin factory panels
• Minimal acoustic insulation from factory
And to make it even more demanding, Dave did not want a subwoofer.
Without a sub, the midbass drivers must work harder, and the installation quality becomes critical. Every vibration, every panel resonance, every weak cable affects the result.
🔧 The System Design
We proposed the following configuration under our Premium Clarity Upgrade:
🔊 Speakers
Front Doors: HELIX Ci3 component speakers
Rear Compartments: HELIX Ci3 coaxials
The Ci3 series provides exceptional clarity and tonal balance, ideal for listeners who prioritise mids and highs over heavy low-end emphasis.

This unit allows full active control with DSP outputs, enabling us to manage each channel independently and tune the system at competition level precision.

Full acoustic treatment on all doors.
🛠 The Installation Process
Once Dave authorised the project, we began with what we consider the foundation of sound quality: sound deadening and acoustic control.
This stage alone took four days in total.
Day 1 and 2 – Full Soundproofing
We removed all door panels and rear covers.
Each door received approximately 4 to 5 layers of acoustic treatment including:
• Vibration damping
• Acoustic foam isolation
• Panel reinforcement
• Air gap sealing
Creating proper acoustic chambers inside factory doors is never easy, especially in a Jimny. But extracting maximum performance from small speakers depends on it.
Using sound measurement tools, we achieved approximately an 80 percent reduction in unwanted resonance. That level of isolation dramatically improves clarity and definition.
Day 3 – Wiring and Amplification
We installed the MATCH UP 6 DSP amplifier using custom-made harnesses.
At MC Audio Sydney, our last option is ever cutting factory wiring. We build plug-and-play harness solutions to preserve vehicle warranty and maintain OEM integrity.
We also replaced factory speaker cabling because it is not true copper and does not meet the performance requirements of a DSP-amplified system. Correct gauge copper wiring ensures signal integrity and dynamic response.
Day 4 – Precision Tuning
Once everything was mechanically perfect, we moved into tuning.
Many installers focus only on equalisation. But tuning is the final step in a chain. If the materials, insulation, wiring, and mounting are not correct, tuning cannot fix those flaws.
For Dave’s system, we performed tuning in three separate sessions:
• First session – 2 hours
• Second session – 4 hours
• Final refinement – 1 to 2 hours
Human hearing fatigues. Stress and external noise affect perception. By separating sessions, we achieve more consistent and accurate results.
We used the AMI Tuning Kit – Audio Measurement Interface Tuning Kit for precise frequency response measurement and phase alignment.
The result was a front-focused, highly detailed soundstage with crisp highs, accurate midrange presence, and controlled midbass without the need for a subwoofer.

Dave wanted clarity.
He got precision, balance, and competition-level tuning in a compact 4WD platform.
No subwoofer.
No intrusive modifications.
Fully plug-and-play integration.
Factory warranty preserved.
