The Installation Process 🛠️
To bring David’s idea to life, our team carried out a 3-day installation at our Sydney workshop. The final system included:
- Amplifier: HELIX M FOUR DSP — a compact 4-channel amp with integrated DSP for precision tuning
- Subwoofer: HELIX IK ER8.1-DVC2 — 8” 300W RMS vented subwoofer box (dual 2Ω voice coils)
- System Tuning: 30-band EQ, time alignment, and phase correction using DSP PC-Tool
- Soundproofing: Strategic STP treatment in doors for tighter bass response and reduced road noise
🔧 To accommodate the new subwoofer, we removed the factory spare wheel. Instead of leaving David stranded, we supplied and installed a modern tyre compressor with sealant technology — offering peace of mind while freeing up space for the subwoofer enclosure.
