Domenic came to us through a group of friends, driving an absolute masterpiece on wheels — a Mercedes-Benz GLC63S. He had just returned from Thailand, where he was amazed by the wild sound setups in the local tuk-tuks, and wanted something that delivered real power and clarity without compromising the elegant design of his car.
As we often see, even high-end vehicles like this one can have surprisingly basic factory sound systems. Unless you pay extra for the Burmester package, the experience can be underwhelming — and even Burmester leaves room for improvement when it comes to true hi-fidelity and precision.
At MC Audio Sydney, our goal is to elevate these factory systems using the latest plug-and-play technology. We use high-quality harnesses, OEM-grade connectors, and perform extensive signal testing to ensure everything integrates seamlessly and safely.
🔧 The Installation
For Domenic’s GLC63S, we used a custom harness to bridge the original subwoofer line and feed a clean signal to a MATCH 1 FX amplifier. To give him full control over bass intensity, we added a Helix SRC1 bass controller, perfect for adjusting power depending on the mood or music style of the day.
The highlight of this build is the new HELIX IK ER8.2-DVC2 active subwoofer — a compact yet incredibly powerful dual 8-inch system delivering over 600 watts of clean, punchy bass. We carefully designed the rear installation so it looks completely OEM, as if Mercedes themselves had planned it that way.
To complete the system, we upgraded the front stage with STEG Hi-End component speakers, replacing both the mid-range drivers and tweeters. The result is a refined, dynamic soundstage with crisp highs and rich mid-bass.

After the tuning session, Domenic sent us a message saying he couldn’t believe the transformation — the installation was discreet and elegant, yet the difference in sound quality was dramatic.
