Mahes is no stranger to premium audio setups. Having previously trusted us with his BMW and Audi, he returned to MC Audio Sydney to prepare for his next car — a brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLB 35 AMG. Before delivery, he brought us his amplifier from his Audi and we started discussing the ultimate configuration for his next audio journey.
Over several email exchanges, we finalised a system built for acoustic clarity and orchestral brilliance:

🔧 The Installation Journey: 5 Days of Precision 🎯
After two weeks of planning, Mahes dropped off his GLB 35 AMG. His passion for acoustic music and high-fidelity tuning meant every decision needed surgical precision.
🧩 Step 1: Locating OEM Signal Sources
Unlike most AMG models where the amplifier is located in the boot, this one was different. We dismantled the front dashboard area, and eventually found the OEM unit next to the steering wheel. From here, we tested and verified the polarity and quality of the factory signals to ensure clean integration.
🔩 Step 2: Rear Seat & Boot Modification
We removed the rear seats and took out the factory subwoofer, which Mahes jokingly compared to a beach speaker 😅. It created just enough space for the MATCH UP 6DSP amplifier, mounted with airflow and wiring neatly organised.
🚪 Step 3: Speaker Replacement & Door Deadening
We disassembled all four door panels to replace the original paper-cone speakers with our Helix Ci3 component sets.
At the same time, we applied STP sound deadening to both front and rear doors, ensuring solid acoustic insulation and minimal resonance for the cleanest sound reproduction possible.
📦 Step 4: Hidden Subwoofer Customisation
The GLB 35 comes with a small rear storage compartment, which we repurposed to stealth-mount the MATCH PP 8E-Q subwoofer. The result was a fully OEM-look finish, with deep bass tucked neatly out of sight.
🎛️ Final Tuning: A Symphony in Motion 🎶
As always, we spent over 6 hours with the final tuning process using DSP PC-Tool software.
Mahes listens to wind and string orchestras, and he’s extremely particular about how each note lands. Every frequency, delay, and phase correction had to be just right.
We ran a full road test with Mahes, comparing tracks and tweaking until the system resonated with clarity, balance, and richness. The final smile on his face said it all.
