At MC Audio, we love breathing new life into classic vehicles. One such project recently crossed our workshop—a 1970 Ford Capri V6. This crown jewel of Australian sports car history demanded a full restoration to match its iconic status. Here’s how we made it happen.
Revamping the Interior with Retro Style
Our first task was addressing the technical shortcomings. We replaced malfunctioning temperature gauges with brand-new, reliable ones and revamped the interior with a black-and-brown retro finish.
To maintain authenticity, we swapped pilot-style switches for retro buttons, mounted on a custom base for a perfect fit. This attention to detail ensured the Capri’s classic aesthetic remained intact while delivering modern functionality.

Soundproofing and Precision Audio
The biggest challenge? Fixing a poorly glued carpet left by the previous owner. After meticulous work, we fully soundproofed the flooring, creating the perfect acoustic environment for an upgraded audio system.
We installed a Match 5.4 DSP amplifier, allowing precise tuning, and paired it with Helix component speakers at the front for crystal-clear sound. At the rear, we added classic 6x9s for a nostalgic touch, complemented by a powered subwoofer under the seat for a rich, balanced bass response.
Attention to Detail
All wiring was completely redone to ensure safety, durability, and performance. Finally, we spent a full day fine-tuning the system to achieve impeccable sound quality.
The result? A 1970 Ford Capri V6 with a refreshed retro interior, high-fidelity sound, and a whisper-quiet cabin—ready to hit the road with a roar worthy of its legendary V6 engine.
